Carrie Garrigus is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She received her BA in Psychology and Masters in Social Work from the University of Connecticut.
Carrie’s diverse experience includes working with adolescents, families, and adults in a variety of settings from, residential care, outpatient/inpatient, to emergency room, primary care, and correctional settings. In the beginning of her career, Carrie worked with adolescents experiencing trauma and insecure attachments. She currently specializes in treating symptoms related to depression, stress, and anxiety, providing counseling to improve her patient’s relationships, parenting skills, careers, and overall health.
Carrie’s treatment approach includes creating a therapeutic relationship that feels safe and supportive. She provides therapy that is affective in promoting growth and healing. Carrie uses evidence-based techniques, (CBT, DBT, MI, and PST), to develop introspection and awareness, shift unhelpful patterns, confront fears and adopt healthier habits.
When not working, Carrie enjoys spending time outdoors, being active, and being with family and friends.
