Betsy Gerbert is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) who graduated with a M.S. in clinical counseling from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA.
Betsy has been practicing therapy for the past 15 years specializing in both individual and family therapy. She has worked with children, tweens, adolescents, and adults. Her approach to therapy is tailored to you and/or your children’s needs. Betsy approaches therapy using concepts from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), a family systems approach, trauma informed care, and mindfulness-based skills.
She believes in taking a strength-based approach to working with clients and views therapy as collaboration between the client and therapist, Therapy should be a safe place to discuss very personal topics and concerns. Therapy is a tool to be used to improve your life. Betsy hopes to support you in identifying goals for therapy, as well as providing you the skills to help manage anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and relationship concerns.
Betsy believes it is an honor to work with people when they are going through a tough period in their life or dealing with a challenging situation. She works towards understanding her clients and current needs with the goal of helping you to feel better. Attending therapy can feel overwhelming at times, but it is a step toward a healthier and happier life.
In her free time, Betsy enjoys spending time away from screens, hiking, playing with her pup, reading mysteries, watching documentaries, and trying to be more mindful!
