Kate Haggerty is originally from Hawaii and double board certified in Preventive Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She majored in Neuroscience and Behavior at UC Santa Cruz and has always been fascinated by the human mind and mind-body connection. She received her medical degree from the University of Hawaii, followed by an internship in Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA. She then completed her residency in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at UC San Diego while completing her Masters in Public Health at San Diego State University. In 2023, she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
Her practice is focused on whole-person care, improving quality of life, and improving metabolic health and wellness through the six pillars of lifestyle medicine. These pillars include nourishing foods, regular movement, restorative sleep, stress management, minimizing high-risk substances, and positive social connections. With years of experience in digital/virtual medicine, urgent care, primary care, and obesity/metabolic medicine, she partners with patients so they feel heard, respected, and valued.
In addition to surfing, she loves running, yoga, hiking, and generally any form of playing outside with friends and family. Her family is a big priority in her life and she enjoys spending quality time and going on adventures with her husband and two active children.
