Kim Vu, PMHNP-BC

Kim Vu, MSN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C is dual board certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a family nurse practitioner with over 10 years of medical nursing experience. Prior to working for the Perlman Clinic, she worked as a nurse practitioner for a concierge internal medicine practice and a pediatric practice, both of which were based in Santa Monica. Most recently, Kim worked for Johns Hopkins University as a nurse practitioner at an occupational medicine clinic in Torrance where she conducted mental health screenings and encouraged lifestyle modifications to under-served patients, which facilitated her passion for the mental health care field.

Kim believes in a holistic approach in that the health of the mind is as equally important as the health of the body. She believes the patient and the provider need to be collaborative in order to increase the chances of attaining positive outcomes, especially when it comes to, for example, medication management. Kim approaches each patient as an individual with an open-mind, compassion, empathy, and respect. She strives to provide culturally sensitive care where appropriate. Kim enjoys good movies, listening to pop music, spending time with family, traveling abroad, and trying different foods. Learning how to play the piano has been on her bucket list. Kim’s favorite color is mauve pink.
