Lauren Johnson, LPCC

Lauren Johnson is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. She has extensive experience working with adults navigating substance use and addiction, OCD, anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. Her clinical background includes working with individuals at varying levels of care, including those experiencing complex mental health and substance use concerns.

Lauren believes some of the most meaningful therapeutic work happens when people are able to show up exactly as they are—even when life feels messy, overwhelming, or uncertain. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in meeting each client where they are rather than where they feel they should be. She strives to create a space where clients feel genuinely understood while also being supported and challenged toward meaningful change.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care, Lauren tailors treatment to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. She is particularly passionate about helping clients understand the patterns that keep them stuck, develop greater trust in themselves, and build lives that feel more authentic and sustainable.

Above all, Lauren views therapy as a relationship in which clients do not have to navigate their hardest moments alone. She aims to walk alongside her clients through those moments with compassion, honesty, humor when appropriate, and the belief that meaningful change is possible even when the path forward is not yet clear.
