Lorraine Peng, PMHNP-BC

Lorraine Peng is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over five years of nursing experience. Before joining the Perlman Clinic, she worked as a psychiatric nurse in a variety of settings, including crisis stabilization units, inpatient psychiatric care, and long-term psychiatric facilities.

Lorraine’s philosophy of providing healthcare is simple: every patient deserves a provider who is fully in their corner, making them feel seen and heard. She believes that creating a space where patients feel understood is crucial for effective care, especially in treating conditions that may not be widely understood by the public. She brings kindness, humor, and thoughtful consideration to every interaction, fostering an environment where patients are recognized for their resilience and strength, rather than being defined by their illness.

An inspiring testament to perseverance, Lorraine completed two baccalaureate degrees: one in biology from the University of California, San Diego, and the other in nursing. This is a remarkable achievement given the difficulty of earning just one degree. After realizing that nursing was her calling, she worked diligently as a certified nursing assistant for two years before completing an accelerated nursing degree in under a year, showcasing her dedication to the profession.

Outside of her professional life, Lorraine enjoys ranking McDonald's chicken nuggets in every country she visits and hunting for blind boxes to surprise her siblings.
