Marisa Lawson, LCSW

Developing and growing through therapy can be a difficult process. It requires bravery and tenacity to reach one’s goals. Marisa’s objective in client care is to make the process as painless as possible with active listening, developed empathy, and mindfulness in and outside of each session.

Marisa Lawson, LCSW specializes in the symptomology management of anxiety, depression, trauma, paraphilics, sexual dysfunction, women’s issues, LGBTQ+ issues, socio-economic issues, cognitive/physical disabilities, schizophrenia, autism, substance abuse disorder, legal issues/justice system trauma, domestic violence, postpartum depression, grief and loss, and career coaching/development issues. She strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for her clients to accomplish their goals.

Marisa enjoys working with adults, older adults, and disabled adults. She takes a client-centered, humanistic approach to her practice, meaning that her clients will be the guide. Marisa will meet clients where they are and go with them on this journey at their pace. She will consistently ask how the process is feeling and if her clients need any adjustments to their care; all feedback is valuable and necessary.

Outside of work, Marisa enjoys reading, video games, creating art and writing, concerts, and being a loving mama to her pets. She believes in self-compassion, patience with oneself, and nourishing one's inner child to bring about positive and healthy change.

Marisa can’t wait to meet you!
