Michal Pomeranetz is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Michal received her BA in Psychology at SDSU and Masters in Counseling Psychology from National University.
Michal has been in the field since 2009 and has a very diverse background working with adolescents, adults, families in a variety of settings such as schools, hospice, in home care with geriatric population, and out patient care in psychiatric clinics in office as well as Telehealth. Michal specializes in treating symptoms related to mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, stress, trauma, grief and phase of life issues. Michal provides counseling to improve patients overall functioning in their day to day life, improve relationships, increase healthy coping skills, and improve overall health.
Michal’s treatment approach includes creating therapeutic relationship that feels safe and supportive for her patients. Michal provides therapy that is based on patients goals and clinical necessity. Michal uses evidence based techniques (CBT, DBT, CPT, ACT, Mindfulness, and polyvagal theory) in order to help patients increase awareness and develop healthy coping skills, shift unhelpful patterns, confront fears, and continue to practice healthier habits in their daily lives.
When Michal is not working, Michal enjoys spending time with her husband, children, family and friends.
