Stacy Kilburn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her both her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Masters Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. She has been practicing therapy since 2011 and has a variety of experiences providing therapy to adults, children and families in settings including home based, outpatient health clinics and military bases. She has experience supporting clients in therapy using interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Attachment based therapies, Solution Focused Therapy and was recently trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).
She currently specializes in treating symptoms related to depression and mood disorders, anxiety, parenting and family stressors, grief and loss, and various types of trauma.
She takes a very humanistic/eclectic stance when working with clients in therapy. She values bringing an authenticity to the therapy space that is a combination of her skills, training and lived experience. She welcomes feedback from her clients in order to support them in more effective ways. She approaches therapy with a humble attitude and views being able to support clients through challenging life experiences as both an honor and privilege. Stacy also tend to view things from a systems perspective and encourages her clients to identify and acknowledge the broader issues that are contributing to their individual distress. She believes that healing happens in various spaces including the communities that we live and work in.
Outside of work Stacy enjoys hanging out with her dog, traveling, spending time with friends and family, cooking, listening to music and staying current with her favorite shows.
